Intellectual Arguments, Pro and Con, on Critical Race
Theory
These are two current intellectual arguments for
and against Critical Race Theory being taught in American K-12 schools.
The New York Times essay is by Kmele Foster, David
French, Jason Stanley and Thomas Chatterton Williams, who are represented as a
cross-partisan group of thinkers who have written extensively about
authoritarianism, liberalism and free speech.
The response in National Review is by Cameron Hilditch,
who is a William F. Buckley Fellow in Political Journalism at National Review
Institute.
These arguments are lengthy and somewhat
cerebral. They present intellectual
arguments, and not emotional appeals.
They present the liberal (NYT) case for Critical Race Theory, and the
conservative (National Review) case against it.
These articles are well worth the read to stay informed on this
important, divisive topic.
